Meeting Room Conferencing Systems

The Project

BC Pavilion Corporation, the operators of BC Place Stadium and the Vancouver Convention Centre, have engaged Chroma to standardize and roll out video conferencing across their facilities.

The Challege

Like many large organizations, the videoconferencing experience has not been consistent from room to room. In the past, meeting rooms had been outfitted one at a time. Some were equipped for presentations and conferencing with old technology. Each was controlled differently.

Since the pandemic, PavCo’s team has had a hybrid workforce with staff alternating between working from home and the office. The IT department has sped up their implementation of Microsoft Teams to support this.

The Result

We discussed a unified communication strategy with the IT department. Once we understood PavCo’s approach to meeting and conferencing, we established an equipment standard. We assessed each room reusing equipment where we could and replacing what was required.

Rooms were standardized on a common conferencing platform with identical touchscreen interfaces for each room. When a user enters a meeting room at either BC Place or the Vancouver Convention Centre, the experience is the same. Connecting to a call is quick and easy.

PavCo continues to deploy Microsoft Teams and staff is becoming more comfortable with the digital workspace. The hybrid remote workforces is no longer a point of friction. It has become seamless with consistent, connected meeting rooms.
